Standalone drive or library

Also,

1) remembert that to Veritas, a tape has to have an active backup set on it to be appendable. That is, if the job is strictly Append, and you give it a new or newly labeled tape, that tape is not appendable

2) the mounted tape must already be in the media set used by the current backup job.

Hello

The reason for this could be the Overwrite Protection Period(OPP) of the Media. If the Overwrite Protection Period of the Media is not expired, Backup Exec will not be able to write on it and hence the error message which says that you need to insert overwritable media.

Please go through the following links, which will help you to understand this. And especially document number 237374, which will help you to change the OPP of your Media.

-{When performing a backup operation, the alert: "Please insert overwritable media into the changer using the slot import command" is generated}- http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/230608.htm
