I'm trying to get BackupExec 2010 R2 to notify when my tape library of drives go offline (and therefore requrie attention), however the event driven notifications only seem to be backup job related, and not system status related. Can anyone point me in the right direction, all the documentation and posts Ive found so far are re-iterating what the documentation says.
Thanks
Chris

You can configure the Device error and Device warning Alerts and it would inform you if there are any kind of Device related errors

I guess there is already an idea posted for the issue you have .

I use BE to send an SMS/Text message to my cell phone when a job fails or a device needs intervention or goes offline.
1. Tools-Recipients add yourself as a recipient and put in your cell phone's email address. I.E. 5551234567@txt.att.net
2. Tools-Assign recipients to Alert Categories pick the alerts you want to have sent to your cell phone.
To use this feature, you must have already configured an SMTP server to relay from--Tools-Email and Pager Notification-SMTP Configuration
