I recently updated one of my backup servers to Backup Exec 2016 and now I get the error message "ODBC Access Error. Possible lost connection to database or unsuccessful access to catalog index in the database." I rebuilt the catalog but I'm still recieveing the error. Any other suggestions to try?

If you are not on FP1, you might want to update to that. See the document below

I'mj running FP1 but just installled the latest HOTFIX. That seems to have corrected the issue. I haven't seen the message since.
