Last night's backup of a Windows Server 2003 SP1 volume threw a VSS error (located at the bottom of this post) that turns up nothing on this site or google.
AOFO is not conigured on the scheduled job, and the job completed successfully with verification.

VSS Snapshot error. Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) cannot communicate with the writers. Check that the Volume Shadow Copy Service is started, and check the Windows Event Viewer for errors related to this service.
