Oracle credentials if Media server is on Oracle server

Hi,

I'm running BE12.5 on a Windows server that's both Backup Exec and Oracle Server, in order to backup oracle instance.

I'm experiencing a BE Error 0xe0001403 - The logon account specified in the Remote Agent Utility cannot be authenticated. Update the entry in the list of authentication credentials on the media server.

I've tried to follow advices on support, but they all refer to a situation where oracle and media server are separate physical servers.

What have I to do if the media server (where BE is installed) and Oracle server are on the same physical machine? Do I have to install remote agent anyway?

Thanks

Ciao

Remote agent on the media server gets installed when you install the core product.

You need to configure remote agent utility as specified in the below article.

 http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH54288

In BE console, click on Tools->Options->Oracle->modify list->make an entry of the admin account

which is specified in the remote agent utility as mentioned in the above article.
