Overwrite use more tapes

I have decied to duplicate to tape every time after the job to disc finishes. When I use overwrite the duplicate job wil use more tapes than when I set it to append. But when I use append in the job, the tapes will never be emptied on first (re-)use.

How would you handle this?

The duplicate for your full backup specifies overwrite so that it starts with a full tape.  The duplicates for your diff backup can append to this tape.

We are using an autoloader with barcoded tapes. What if de duplicate jobs all together spans more than one tape? The first one is overwritten at first (re-)use. But what about the 2nd tape when I use append in the duplicates of the diff backup?

For the 2nd and subsequent tapes, BE will need an overwritable tape.  It will not append to a second tape.
