Permissions issue with Backup Exec 2010 and Documentum data

OK, here's the convoluted situation in the best words I can put it in:

We have documentum data living on a Solaris 10 machine that is clustered, which we can't backup without breaking the cluster until the next dot release of BE 2010 (so we've been told)
We currently have the directories containing the documentum data NFS mounted to another Solaris 10 server that is NOT in a cluster so it is able to be backed up.
Our BE 2010 master server is a Windows 2003 R2 server.
We are able to back up the directory level, but once we get to the file level, we get access denied errors.
The main server itself backs up fine.
We have even tried using the root id to run the backup and we still get the access errors. Which we don't understand as root should not get access denied on anything.
We do not have any agents other than RALUS on the target client.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this or have any suggestions?

Thanks.
