So I upgraded from 11d to 12 but my two main problems are still there:
1. Email notification stops working at random intervals. Restarting BE services starts it up again.
2. Tape drive timeouts cause BE to assume that a tape is cleaning media, so no error message.
The combination of the two means it is still possible to have a failed backup and not hear about it.
