Server 2012 R2 Domain controller. Upgrading from Backup Exec 20.3 to 21.0.
A previous version of Backup Exec froze during install. After a forced abort and reboot, Backup Exec runs fine, no obvious errors.
Pre-install check of Backup Exec 21 shows a WMI error that could prevent SQL express from being installed..
Are there any known issues with re-registering WMI, as shown on this help page?
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100017778
Using the mentioned WMI diag tool, it gives me these errors:
Root/aspnet, 0x8004100E - (WBEM_E_INVALID_NAMESPACE) Namespace specified cannot be found.
Then 118 error 0x80070002 saying it can't open registry keys.
Thanks

Not yet.
The previous upgrade barely succeeded and I don't want to potentially bugger things up unless I absolutely have to.
It's a 3 hour round trip to even get to the thing.
I've yet had to restore a backup exec server from a backup and would rather not have to experience it unless I have to.
It's a single server environment (I know, need more than 1 DC but budget doesn't allow it) and can probably rebuild everything in 1 or 2 days but don't want them out for my blood during that time.
Plus I don't need the irony of my backup software crashing the system, requiring the use of said software.
