Problems to extract a drive tape

Javier_Torres

I have a HP StorageWorks MSL5030 connected to a fiber switch, and Veritas BE 9.1 to make backups. When a tape is broken I have to extract it manually from MSL5030, and BE 9.1 believe that tape is in library yet. To resolve it I have to restart all the fiber components: MSL, fiber switch and media server. Is there any way to resolve it without restart all fiber components?

Thanks.

Hello,
- You could try running an Eject from the Backupexec Console.
- You could also try Running an Inventory after you have manually ejected the tape.

Let us know if that helps.

Eject is equal to export? How can I do a tape drive eject from backupexec console?
I think inventory only can run to library slots, not drive.

Hello,
Right click on the Drive, and select the Eject Option.

Eject and Export is not the same.
