If you have to manually stop the Backup Exec services is there a proper order? Is there a recommended order for startup? We are running version 9.1 for windows Servers. Thanks for any help.

Hi David,

Veritas ships with C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\bestart.bat to automate this procedure for you.

Hello,

To manually stop Backup Exec services you can either do from Windows Services. There is no recommended order to start or stop these services but you can first stop Backup Exec Device and Media service. This service will stop Backup Exec Job Engine and Backup Exec Server Service with it. Then you can stop the rest of the services.
While restarting those services, you can first start Backup Exec Server service, this will start Device and Media server alongwith it. Then rest of the services.

The second method is from Tools - Backup Exec services.

Hope this helps you.

Regards
