Quantum Tape Drive LTO6

I just installed a quantum standalone tape drive LTO6 attached to the windows 2012 R2 server through a sas controller card. the sas controller is installed in windows but does not see the tape drive neither the Backupexec 15 can see the tape drive.  how do we install the tape drive in windows 2012 r2 so BE15 can configure it under storage?

Really appreciate your help.

What SAS controller are you using?  Make sure it supports tape as not all do.

Make sure it is not a RAID SAS card, unless it is listed in http://www.veritas.com/docs/000038683

First step is to make sure the SAS card is supported and sees the tape drive (in the SAS UI or during server POST), then the OS should see the tape drive, then BE should see the tape drive (no configuration needed in BE other than maybe restarting BE services).  It should all be automatic when the HBA is working right.
