Question regarding licensing.

I have a "Not for resale" license that is supposedly good up to version 20.3

Well, since updates allowed for it, I have 20.6 installed.

It has now been a year and I need to install my new license by going to licensing - entitlements - generate new license.

My question is: Can I install my new license even though I have 20.6 installed?

SInce I generated a new license, are newer versions covered or am I just good up to 20.3?

Hi there,

With BE you typically need the license to match the product version. But you could give it a try and, if you do not get any error when installing it, that means it works.

Which version did you select before generating new license? 

With NFR key, probably best to request a new entitlement through the channels where you obtained your existing entitlement from.

I followed the steps here to renew my license.

When I renewed it, I only had 20.1 to choose from in the 20.* range.

Removing the old one activated the free 60 day trial.

I was able to add the renewed license but the 60 day trial remains.

I can unfortunately not comment on techsoup licenses - I am not aware of any company in South Africa using it.
