Questions about Server Backup Solutions

Hello

I'm looking for a solution to backup my server and also PC in the Network to tape.

I have a Dell PowerEdge Server T110 II running with Windows Server 2012 .

I added a HP LTO5 Ultrium 3000 Tape Streamer.

I tried with Acronis Server Backup and to my surprise the Backup failed saying the tape is full ... instead of requesting another tape to backup to tape series ...

Now my question is :

To backup a complete server with all data and maybe with some network PCs connected to the server as linked network drives ... is it possible to make a complete backup to a set of tapes (I know I have to chnge the tapes manually)? Which Backup Solution is the best for this need ? And what are the prices for such a solution ? (Price for Software Backup Exec Server)?

Best regards and thanks for sharing any advices and experiences.

Martin

...Backup Exec 15. You'd need a remote agent license for the desktops.

While Symantec has Desktop & Laptop Option for desktop OS's, it only backs up to disk. BE does disk & tape.

Contact the licensing department or a reseller for help on licenses, and read the BE 15 Admin Guide below:

Thanks!

If you need multiple tapes to backup your data, then I would strongly suggest that you get a tape library.  I doubt you want to stay around in the middle of the night, which is when most people run their backups, to swap tapes.  This is regardless of what backup solution you finally choose.
