Hi,
We've been experiencing "No media in storage device" errors every night recently. We've tried all the options in the following article (short of replacing the SCSI card), but no luck:
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH45738&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US&searchid=1312982839105
We've had the drive itself replaced, but the problem is still occurring. It also seems to be happening after random amounts of time (sometimes after just 30mins, other times after a few hours).
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan

...what version of Backup Exec are you running?

Sorry for lack of information there! We're on Backup Exec 2010 (v13.0 Rev. 2896) on a 64-bit Windows Server 2008 (SP2).

What kind (type/brand) of backup device (tape/disk) are you using ?
Is it new or did it work fine before ?

...might be worth your while to do a free upgrade using your current license keys to R3...

It's an EXABYTE VXA-320 SCSI device, and the SCSI card is an Adaptec 29320LPE PCI-e Ultra320.

Did you run a cleaning cycle on the device ?
Is it properly terminated ?
Is it working fine with windows backup ?

Thanks Craig, I didn't realise it was free to upgrade to R3. Will give it a try and see if that helps.
Thanks,
Dan

We've run the cleaning tape through, and double checked the SCSI termination, but haven't tried using Windows backup yet, which is actually a good idea just to see if it manages to get through a whole backup without failing.
Thanks,
Dan
