Hi,
My setup UCS(Backup exec)--Nexus 5k--Tape iScalar 500.
When I use backup media as Tape library, am seeing the issue as "Ready; No idle devices are available ". For the same scenario if I use backup media as disk, the backup operation is successfull.
I can able to see the iScalar500 in my Backup exec installed server. And I configured the robotic library, still am seeing the issue.
Thanks
Boomi

I see you have 2 drives...BE ships with support for 1 drive in a library, and every extra drive needs a Library Expansion Option license...in your case you need 1 LEO. Do you have this?
About creating backup jobs, the Admin Guide is pretty good in informing you how to do so, but check the links below:

Thanks!

Hi,
Make sure you're using the Symantec drivers for your tape drive, and that in Device Manager in Windows, the robotics shows up as" Unknown Medium Changer). If not, change that, you might have to restart your server, and restart the BE services.
You can install the drivers for the tape drive using tapeinst.exe.
Thanks!

Thanks Craig for your response.
Earlier I installed drivers with tapeinst.exe.
And in device mgr it shows like "Unknown Medium Changer". I have attached screenshot for the same.Am new to this Tape library config, it would be helpful for me if you share any basic steps in executing normal file level backup using tape library in step by step.
Thanks
Boomi
