Recovering Remote Agent CAL

Hi all,

We have Backup Exec Remote Agent installed on Windows Server 2000 and it is working fine.

Now, we want to decomission that server and transfer the Backup Exec Remote Agent to another server.  to 

Is there a way to find Backup Exec Remote Agent license from that server?

I tried Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder but it could not recover the key.

If you want to transfer your remote agent, you don't have to worry about licences.  Just decomission your old server and push out the remote agent to the new server.  BE remote agent licences are not server specific.

All remote agent licenses are stored on the server that does the backup, not the server you are backing up.

They will be found in besernum.xml on C:

Location varies a bit depending on OS and version of BE

So look in

1) C:\WINDOWS or C:\WINNT

2) C:\Documents and Settings\All Uses\Application Data\Symantec\Backup Exec

3) C:\Users\All Users\Symantec\Backup Exec
