Recuperating Licenses BE12.5

Hi,

I've inherited a Backup Exec 12.5 system and it appears the previous engineer set up some test jobs on some of our test SQL servers.  These jobs have been removed but the license tool says I am using 4 out of 1 available license.  Tthe SQL server I need to be backed up is failing with an error about using no SQL agent.  This was the most recent server to be configured so I assume one of the test machines has the relevant SQL license attached to it?

Platform:
Windows 2008
SQL 2005 Express.
BE 12.5

Anyone know how I can recuperate these licenses?

Thanks in advance....

Chris.

Many a times backup exec does not see the license installed in the database .

You can go to Tools -> Options and License Key and remove all Backup exec licenses . Once the installation finishes , Reinserted the license backup , just to detect those again .

Please be sure to take a copy of  License saved before you do that , just to be on a safer side.

Zaki,

Thanks for your reply, I have the original Licenses keys sent to me from Symanytec so I assume I can just remove the licenses and re-apply the ones from the Symantec File?

After re-applying them would I not have to recreate the jobs or should it detect what it currently set up for backups and auto-assign?

Thanks again
Chris.

There is absolutely no need to recreate the jobs . You can safely reapply the new license .
