Hello forum,
is Sharepoint 2010 Remote BLOB Storage supported in Backup Exec 2012 with full GRT functionality when using Remote Agent Backups?
The following Article is available for BE2010: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH173582
However there is no mention of BE2012.
Can anyone from Symantec confirm wether this scenario is supported with BE2012?
Thanks

Just got an update internally. The article is correct in terms of Application GRT via VMware backups.
However, RBS (Remote BLOB Storage) is still not supported using BE 2012 and the technote that you had mentioned originally (http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH173582) applies to BE 2012 as well.

I don't have any KB as such however the above KB applies to RAWS backups as well (about RBLOB). (Internally, I found the same info i.e. no support, however Jaydeep may have current info)
EDIT**
Just saw Jaydeep confirming this as well :)

I don't think this has changed in BE 2012 (even with SP2). I have forwarded your query internally and post back if there is any change.

Have a look @ this KB - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH179869
Per the footnote, looks like not supported
NOTE : For RBLOB you need to manually backup the database first, then manually backup these Remote BLOBs using File System Backup. This must be done AFTER backing up the database to ensure no broken links. All do not however support granular recovery.

@Jaydeep: Thanks!
@VJware: I also found this article - however this is specific to AVVI Backups wheras I need this answered for RAWS backups.

It seems I overlooked that TECH179869 does also apply to "Application GRT", not only AVVI/Hyper-V.
That fully answers my question - thanks for the fast replies!
