Remote Agent on NAS

Hi,

BackupExec 10.d

I've a Buffalo NAS that I'm trying to back files up from over a normal windows share connection. Theres no remote agent for it. I want to archive files from the device.  The backup of the files goes ok, and the verification also passes ok, but then I get a "V-79-0-83" error message (I think when it gets to deletion). The only other message in the log is that it couldnt talk to the Remote Agent, which of course, it cant as there isnt one.

The archived files are then not removed, which is the problem.

So two questions... Am I right in thinking that its failing because of the remote agent not being there?  And if so, how do I tell it to "not-try" ?

Thanks,

Adrian

1)  yep

2)  AFAIK, there is no way for an Archive job.   You could probably setup a standard backup, then execute a POST JOB (on sucess only) consisting of a cmd line that would rsh and delete the files.  Been a while since I played much with UNIX rsh, but shouldn't be too hard
