Remotely Triggering Backup Jobs

I'm sure this is possible, but not something I've been able to track down the specifics on, is it possible for a backup job to be started by a remote host.  For example if I have a script that needs to trigger a backup as part of it's operation (on the host to be backed up) is this possible?

Maybe you can do anything with scripting and the BE command line options:

You can execute a pre-defined job  by using the BEMCMD .
