Removing B2D Folder

Hi all,

Can anyone provide me the proper way to Delete or remove B2D folder from BE and my HDD wiht all catalogs.

Hello Sankar,

Deleting the catalogs: In Backup Exec, right click on the bkf file present in the concerned B2D folder and select Restore. The highlighted media set in the Restore tab is the catalog of the data that is present in that particular bkf file. Right click and select delete. This will delete the catalog of that bkf file from the server.

Repeat the step for all the bkf files from that B2D folder


Deleting the B2D from

Backup Exec: right click the B2D folder and select "Delete".

HDD: Delete the B2D folder as you would normally do in Windows.

Thank you for your information.

Actully I had a situation to delete B2D folder from my 1TB USB hdd. Using BE 10d i have scheduled the Backup jobs for 5 days in a week.

When i delete the B2D folder in BE as you have mentioned, it deleted perfectly and the job has been moved to another media set and device. But as for as HDD concern, It hasnt allowed me to deleted. When i delete i got the message saying, " the particular folder may corrupeted or unreadable.

After this i am unable to format that disk. if i format, format is completeing but that B2D folders are not getting deleted.
