How i restore backups from .BKF?

Everyday the veritas backup exec send files to a NAS and NAS to a External Media.

Veritas JOB>NAS>External HDD

The only media add on DEVICE TAB is the NAS with fresh files.

I need to restore the .BKF files on my External Medias. but its so complicated, when i try to add the External Media to DEVICE TAB, the veritas show a warning message to format my disk.

how to restore the .BKF files correctly?

Is/was the external drive off the NAS encrypted ?

Is sounds like BE can't determine or access the file system of the external drive.

is a external drive off the NAS, not encrypted.

i try this:

1) Copy BKF files to a B2D (Backup-to-Disk) folder.

2) Perform inventory on the folder

3) Run a catalog job on the BKF files.

4) Once catalog job completes sucessfully open restore window to view the contents of BKF files.

but the backup set its expired.

i can see the files, but cannot restore.

You should not be copying/backing up the .bkf files from your NAS.  See the article below

If you need another copy of your backup set, then duplicate it.
