Restore job failed of vmdk files

I am trying to restore the vmdk files from a vCenter backup to a folder location on the media server, but I get the following error. 

Final error: 0xe00095b3 - Unable to create the virtual disk.

The VMX file is restored, but not the VMDK.  What am I doing wrong?  I really need to be able to do this for our DR.  

When I go through the restore wizard, I choose the option to restore "To a different path", then I browser to a local drive and folder.

Hello, What versions are you using (Backup Exec, Operating Systems, VMware)  ?

when you attempt the restore are you selecting the VCenter Server and then selecting the whole VM or vmdks for restore?

Backup Exec 2012 SP4, Server 2008R2 Stnd, vCenter & VMware 5.5.

I am selecting the virtual server and not just the VMDKs.

I have determined that it didn't like my folder structure, even though the VMX files were restored.  I created a folder at the root of the drive to restore to and it is now working.
