I have a windows 2008 server with Exchange 2007 installed on it and use Backup Exec 12.5 and USB drives to handle the backups.
We use the Granular backup so we can (supposedly) restore individual emails back to mailboxes but I am struggling.
I managed this morning to permanently delete all yesterdays emails and so I thought I will just restore them from last nights backup. To this end I cataloged the USB drive and browsed down the IMG file until I found my deleted emails.
Next I ticked all the ones I wanted and tried to restore the files but no matter what options I try it always fails, I have checked the credentials and they seem to work.
Can any one help?

Have a look at this and make sure all rights are met:
Since you need E-mails which were deleted yesterday,
First Go to your, Outlook -tools -recover deleted items... and you can restire e-mails from there itself.
If you want to test BE for GRT restore..delete e-mails from there as well..or check option Overwrite existing.....or just redirect restore to some test mailbox.
I have seen this error several times on my server when restoring single mail from backup exec 12.5 of Exchange 2007. The problem is that the user does not have enough rights in Exchange. Even if test credentials goes fine, this is not enough. I have a special useraccount that i use for restore Exchange. The user has to bee exchange admin full rights.
