Restore to Mac fails w/authentication errors unless files redirected

When trying to restore files to a Mac server, the job always fails due to an error stating that "Access is denied to remote agent"  and the job completion status says "Authentication failed on connection to the server.  Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that password was typed correctly.  Final error category:  Security Errors

The logon account used for the restore is correct, and it tests succesfully when setting up the job.  The restore works only when redirecting the files, even if we're redirecting to somewhere else on the same Mac.

We're using v11d.

Can anyone shed some light?

So for me it sounds like a folder permission issue.
As I am not really into Mac, I am not sure if this could cause this problem...

It can't be a permission issue, as I can redirect it any other directory, including the one in question, and it works fine.
