Restoring A Domain Controller

Starfish
Level 2

Good Evening,

Our 2003 R2 domain controller crashed. We have spun up a virtual 2003 server and have restored System State and Shadow Copy Components to the new 2003 virtual server. However, we must be missing a step because this server doesn't resemble a DC. I do see the Sysvol and Netlogon shares on the server now but I don't see the AD tools, any of the other AD shares and If I go into the FRS event log, the only event I see is that the FRS service was started - nothing about sharing netlogon folder. However, if i go to rename the server, I do get a warning that it is a dc. What have I missed? I restored from a Backup Exec 2010 R3 server.
