Restoring Mac folders from multiple tape backup

I am trying to restore a Mac folder from a backup Exec 2010 R3. And I get the following the error message:

Restore- : Fileserv2
An unknown error occurred on device "HP 1".
V-79-57344-34023 - No data error reading from media.

The original backup was successful and the catalog shows all the files in the folder I want to recover with no red X on it. I have cleaned the backup drive, I have inventoried and catalogued the tapes mulitple times. I have even tried unchecking the "Use storage based media catalog" to see if that would help. It is very important that I get this working, Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I tried both of those and neither works. Any other suggestions?

What version of OSX are you running on your Mac server?

Have you tried creating a new Catalogs folder & re-cataloging the tapes ?

use this KB - http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH44676

P.S -> Note: If the job is spanned to multiple tapes the catalog job might fail with the same error message but will be able to see and restore the data successfully. This error message can be ignored in that case.

Just tried this fix and it didn't make a difference. The first tape took 22 hours to catalogue, the other 3 only took 36 minutes total.

I actually have a second request for a different folder from that same backup set. I run that restore and again get the same error...
