Hi

Again it seems you have open a new thread, As per your above mention request we don't suggest to use AOFO with exchange backup as you have specific agent to take care of it

Because exchange agent will be communicating with VSS by default to do snapshot backup in case of exchange 2007 or exchange 2010 but for exchange 2003 if you want to do snapshot backup foorcefully then you will have to use AOFO as in that case exchange agent will not be capable of doing that which is only in case of exchange 2003 but also take a note that when you do snapshot backup using AOFO on exchange 2003 then AOFO superseed's exchange agent & sometime there are issue were transcation log's are not flush or most important would be if your backup are snapshot backup then you cannot do restore to RSG which is limitation from Microsoft side

So considering all this you can decide & yes with backupexec as you have got specific agent to backup those application AOFO is recommended to use unless there is scenario like if you have multiple snapshot provider then in that case using AOFO you can use shadow copy proivder to do backup or if you want to backup open files which is actually the main purpose of AOFO

Please mark the post solved if this explanation of mine helps you to answers your questions

Thank You
