SQL Agent take database offline

I need to backup a SQL Database and need to find out if I run the backup job, does this take the database offline (Running backup exec 2010R3 with the latest SQL agent?  The database file in this case is about 250GB.

With the SQL agent you will be able to HOT or ONLINE backup of the SQL DB.

DB will not go offline during backup
