I have installed an SQL agent for BE9.1 with SP2. When I create a new backup job or view an existing job I can not see the SQL Filegroup. I have checked the option under SQL options to make the group visable but I can still not see this.

Any one seen this?

Hello,

Have you created secondary file groups too? It seems you have enabled the option from the SQL tab as mentioned in the technote given below:

Title: SQL file groups are not displayed in Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0.
http://support.veritas.com/docs/253198

Restart the SQL and Backup exec services and check the results. If the problem persists, try creating secondary file groups and verify if the same issue persists.

Hope the above helps. If not, write back to the forum with details.

Hello,

- Is SQL installed on the same server or a remote server?
- What is the version of SQL?

SQL is installed on the same machine. The OS is Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition.

The Version of SQL is Developer Edition 2000.

Hello,

Try creating a secondary file group for a database. From the tab, tools- options- SQL, uncheck the option 'display filegroups' , then recycle the SQL and BE services. From tools-options- SQL, enable the option for displaying filegroups and then check the results.

If the problem persists, run a repair of the backup exec database from the following link:

How to run a Backup Exec database repair when the original Backup Exec database is found to be inconsistent
http://support.veritas.com/docs/265180

Hope this resolves the issue. If not, check for errors in the event logs and write back to the forum.

Hi,

Thanks for the info. I have created a secondary filegroup and also ran the repair as suggested because I still can not see the SQL databases in selection...

Any other ideas would be excellent?

Any ideas would be welcome. This software is not cheap and the SQL agent is nearly the same cost again so its frustrating when it does not work, and I am looking at paying $85 for phone support....

Thanks

Hello,

Are the SQL databases not seen or the filegroups are not seen under the selections? Please clarify the same.
