SQLVDI Error with Backup Exec 12.5

Hi, wondering if anyone can help me.  We have a new install of BE 12.5, and when backing up SQL 2000 databases get this error:

SQLVDI: Loc=UserAccount::Init(name). Desc=LookupAccountName. ErrorCode=(1332)No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
. Process=888. Thread=5696. Client. Instance=. VD=.

Any idea what might be causing this?  I have ensured the sqlvdi.dll is registered properly.  The SQL 2000 is at SP4.

I have just managed to solve the exact same error with the help of Symantec support.  Apparently the "SQL VSS writer" Backup "Exec remote agent for windows" services do not have access to write from the database using the local system account so you should run them as the domain administrator to allow them to read and write with the proper permissions from the database.
