Can you confirm the need to uninstall the old RALUS before installing the new RALUS?  Another Symantec employee just said that there is no need to do this.

After the installation of the RALUS, he would still need to patch it with the latest hotfixes as my previous advice.

How is this going to help the user?  Do not give a general answer, be specific.

I don't know exactly what you are saying.  You have 1 Linux server.  Of course, you install and update the RALUS on this Linux server.  How else are you going to install and update the RALUS?

You need to update RALUS on Linux server by uninstalling older version and re-installing newer RALUS package which matches with version number on your media server (GUI). Live Update feature will only update your media-server , but you need to manually re-install newer version on Linux server by using the new RALUS package.

PKH,

From the original post I cannot make out on what version of RALUS is Marduk on - he has a BE2012 media server I guess. Hence I advised him that because it is not clear from his post.

However, as sameer.kapadia mentioned(in the other thread) he should be able to upgrade RALUS without re-installing again and the installer will take care of the upgrade. That holds true in this case too but from the initial post it is unclear about what version of RALUS he is currently running.

That is the dilemma that I am a learner and I am finding out these issues, because it is for a client here in colombian. I can not figure out as the subject of this server version for Linix? and also where I find the patch and pack to update the version of the agent?

but I found it many thanks
