I am assuming that your backup server and CIFS shares are on the same network.
Create a selection list from the "User Defined Selections" you will have to create a new selection (filername\foldername) ie. Ours is ibmfiler01\backup
On our CIFS share we created the backup folder that has pointers to all the shares and took off the virus scanning on the backup folder (otherwise the backup was taking forever as the virus scan locked the files). Then we do a Full copy... Unfortunately that is only option I got to work without trying a remote agent. It also means I can only do Full backups.
