Hallo zusammen,
ich muss eine relativ große Datenmenge (13 TB) auf Band (LTO 5) sichern. Da die einzelnen Dateien jeweils ca 20-40 GB haben, sollte die Auftragsrate also ziemlich hoch sein. Tatsächlich ist diese Rate jedoch zwischen 2 und 4 GB/Minute.
Meine Frage daher: Gibt es Möglichkeiten, die Auftragsrate richtung 6-7 GB/Minute zu bekommen oder sind 2-4 GB/Minute realistisch? Der Backup Server hat dank NIC-Teaming einen 2 GBit-Lan Port, die Netzwerklast ist bisher bei ca. 40-50%.

Read pkh's article below on tuning your tape drive and see if this works:

You should also make sure that ALL NICs used are hard-coded to the fastest speed they can run at (eg. 1000MB FULL) along with the switch ports they are connected too.
Lastly, make sure that any antivirus installed isn't perhaps scanning the BE services, and if so, put in exclusions for them.
