Simple backup creation help.

 Hello,
I have a server running BE 9.0.
I am unable to create an automated backup.
I need to have the backup job write over whatever media that I insert into the taravan drive.
the tapes have ben used before in another server.

I am able to run a backup, just all my automated backups fail.

Any idea please

 Hi Janne,
When you run a manual backup job, it is being run as YOU. When you run an automated backup job, it is being run as the login that the Backup Exec service is running as. Does that login have access to the files?

What error message(s) are you getting (right click on the job and select JOB HISTORY).

Hi Janne,

Backups fail for a variety of reason so:

1. Check that the backup job is pointed to a device (in this case your Travan).
2. Make sure your services are actually started up correctly, and running with the correct  service account.
3. Your media is set to overwrite, especially if it was used by another application.

Without a proper error code though, it makes it hard to troubleshoot.
