A couple of questions if anyone knows - I'll be grateful if you do!
- if you load the exchange agent into a VM, and also use the ESX agent to backup via VCB proxy, doe the exchange agent communicate with the ESX agent to do a single pass and thereby allow granular restore? Or does the Exchange agent simply backup via the network as per normal?
- In a physical environment I can use the SAN Shared Storage option to backup data directly from the location the LUN to a SAN attached tape drive. Can I do the same with a VM? My understanding is that the VM will still communicated via the virtual switch and that there is no way to avoid backing up over the network.
