I have a Windows Server running 2008 R2 and its our Hyper-V host. I also have 3 virtual servers running on that host, all are Server 2008 R2. I'm running backup exec 2012 on the hyper-v host and the backup exec client on all the virtual guests. I've noticed that the backups on the virtual host and guests are only running at a rate of about 30MB/min. This is extremely slow and its taking 12 hours for the backups to run. On all my new 2012 R2 servers running BE2014 the rates is around 1,200MB/min. Does anyone know what might be causing the slow backup rates on the virtual hosts and guests?

Is it running slowly on the System State?

I'm not sure what portion its running slow on. It just shows the average transfer rate is around 30MB/minute. This is only happening on the VM hosts and VM guests servers. All our other servers are backing up to the same media (we use a NAS) and their rate is around 1,200MB/min so I know its not the media that is limiting it.
