Storage pool not working as expected

I have Backup Exec 2012, and am trying to use a storage pool with the tape drives. I have the jobs all setup to the pool. When I run a backup, it picks the tape drive with no tapes. Then pops up a Media Request, but sticks there until I manually select a Yes/No/Cancel option. I've tried setting the alerts to auto respond with Cancel, but the job is canceled. Using BEutility, I've tried setting the alerts to auto respond with No, but the job doesn't run or end.

Am I missing something? Why doesn't it look for the next available tape?

Do note that BE 2012 is EOL a long time ago.  You should upgrade to the latest version which is BE 21.

Storage pool for tapes have been removed since BE 2010 if I recall correctly.
