First, the system of the client. We have several customers with the same problem, but different systems - this is just an example of one of our clients.
--------------------------------------------------
Windows 2003 Server Std. SP2
Intel Xeon CPU 3.20GHz
2 GB RAM
Enough free space on HDD
Veritas Backup Exec 10.0.5520
The server is used as a Exchange, File- and AD Server.
--------------------------------------------------
Now to my problems.
1. I know that store.exe takes a lot of memory, but is there any other way than edit the boot.ini to limit the use of memory for that process (that didn't work) - the problem is after a while we have to restart the service so the clients can continue their work and we got a lot of clients and can't spend our time by restarting their store.exe services.
2. The actual problem, as soon as I start a job in Veritas Backup Exec the service store.exe don't just uses a huge amount of memory (>1GB) , the service (store.exe) also uses about ~50% of the processor until the exchange service completely crashes.
It's my 1st post here, so if you need any further information - just say it.
Kind Regards,
Peter
