Store.fcl on 2003 SBS with BE 10d

We've had a number of files come up in use and are thus unable to be backed up since we upgraded to 2003. Most of which do not concern me, however the store.fcl does. We have the SBS edition of BE 10d, is there a problem here? Is there anything we can do to backup this file? or is it even anything to worry about?

Hi,

The store.fcl file belongs to the Program Files\Exchsrvr directory.

If the Exchange services are started, then this file will be invariably be active and hence will be skipped during backup.

If you are using the Backup Exec Agent for Exchange then there is no need to backup these files. The selection for the exchange data should be made from the Exchange agent itself.

Please refer to:

During the backup of an Exchange server, the Microsoft Exchange database files are skipped.

So excluding the file should cause no problems then should a restore ever need to be done of exchange, since the mailboxes and the information store are being backup up successfully?

Hi Shaun,

This should not cause any problems also for the restores. But if you face any issues, please revert back .
