Stuck on PreProcessing

I have one job that keeps getting stuck on preprocessing. it is on a remote server. other jobs on remote servers are fine. this comes on the heals of the backup server crashing. i have recreated the job and set up a new account to run the job. still hangs preprocessing.

the backup server is W2k3 with and lto tape. the server i am trying to backup up is w2k

Hi,

-what is the exact version of Backup Exec ?
-Is any Alert generated in Backup Exec ?
-Are the local backups running ?
-Are you backing up to device or backup/to/disk Folder ?
