In the first or second quarter of 2018 the backup of System States on Windows Server 2012R2 servers started to fail on Backup Exec 2014 SP2 (with all Hotfixes applied) running on Windows Server 2008R2. We have seven different Backup Exec 2014 SP2 servers in seven different locations, all have the same problem with the backup of the System State of Windows 2012R2 servers, everything else regarding backup of those 2012R2 file servers works fine.
The following error is reported ...
Job Log: BEX_xxxxxxxx_01477.xml
Final error: 0xe000ff15 - A communications failure has occurred with a System State resource. Final error category: Resource Errors |
Is this a known bug in BE2014 SP2 (with all Hotfixes applied) and do we need to upgrade to a more recent BE version, as Veritas will not fix the problem?

Didi

Hello Didi,
Prima facie based on the issue description you provided and the job log shared, this does look to be a known issue found with BE 15 and currently being investigated by our engineering team. I am also aware of at least one incident reported for this issue with BE 14 SP2 environment. So I would recommend you to open a support case with this issue as it is still being investigated by our Engineering team.
