I know this question may be a long shot - but thought I would ask.
We are researching any possible solution of restoring the data for machines that have been encrypted with whole disk encryption - without having to restore the data and then re-run whole disk encryption after that.
Does Symantec 2010 R3 support backup and (restoration of data including the encryption level) for an entire hard drive that has whole disk encryption?

They have supported in the past certain configurations of whole disk encryption when used with certain products... For example BackupExec System Recovery with PGP encrypted disks, or Guardian Edge encrypted disks.
It may be documented in the SCL, but you should just try it on a test machine.
