Symantec Backup : Backuped Size showing wrong

Hi there,

I am using Symantec Backup server

Actual backup size of source server is 1.5GB

and taken backup size of destination symantec backup server is 6.5GB

Can anyone tell me why this happening

Could you let us know what are you trying to backup ? Check you job Log , it would give more detail information.

Have a look on your backup selection and make sure there is not unwanted stuff you are backing up .

Is the destination tape or disk ?

Could be the destination storage contain backup sets from previous backups as well.

I've checked & confiremed backup folder selection ands its size.....is 1.5gb

and also restored that job after it is showing size is 1.5.gb

But the size of taken backup file showing more than 6.GB

Yogesh: are you backing up data that's already compressed while using compression in the job?
