Symantec Backup Exec 2010 in Windows Server 2008 and Linux red Hat Problem

HI Everyone,

We have a client using Symantec Backup exec 2010 running in Windows Server 2008 and an Oracle 11g R2 running in Linux Red Hat Server connected to it..We were able to configure the connection of the two servers and the folders from the database(eg. datafile, rman backup..etc..) including the contents were already visible and accessible in Symantec agent installed in windows but we were not able to perform a tape backup directly from the connected Linux server because the database icon was not able to open in Symantec running in Windows Server 2008..Could anyone has the idea how to fix this problem..thanks and best regards!

It is VERY CLEAR that Oracle 11g R2 is supported if it is running on the Windows platform and not on the Linux platform.  There is a tick under the Windows column, but not under the Linux column.

Oracle 11g R1 is supported if it is running on both the Windows and Linux platforms.  There are ticks under both the Windows and Linux columns.

Hi there,

Is your version of RHEL supported on your version of BE 2010?

You can verify this by checking the BE 2010 SCL below:

http://www.symantec.com/resellers/support/enterprise/guides/salestools/BE2010SCL.pdf

Thanks!

Oracle 11g R2 is supported only on Windows, not Linux.  Check page 24 of the SCL

BE 2010|2010 R2|2010 R3 Software (SCL)
