Hello,
I encountered a problem concerning Windows Server 2012 Standard and Symantec Backup Exec 2014. Problems started when I installed Microsoft Security Update KB2993651, released August 27, 2014, this update halted Symantec BE completely. The error message was always "Final error: 0xe000fe28 - A network connection to the server could not be established." After I uninstalled the specific security update, Symantec BE started work fine again. Has anyone found a solution other than uninstall / don't install security update KB2993651?

Hi, I haven't heard anything in regards to Backup Exec regarding the Microsoft patch KB2993651. Does this occur on all the jobs?
Try running Backup Exec's Live Updates and make sure Backup Exec is fully patched with the remote server's remote agents updated to the same level. Then apply the Microsoft update again.

Hi, yes this occurs on every job. BE is updated and fully patched to the latest and agents on remote computers as well.
