Symantec Backup Exec Remote Unitily (Oracle, Configure) problem

Hello!

I have a Symantec Backup Exec 12.5 media server: (hostname: S00DT002). Parameters: Windows 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition
I have an Oracle 11g Standard Edition One server: (hostname: S00DT004). Parameters: Windows 2003 Standard Edition  (32 bit!!)

The S00DT004 server installed in a Symantec Backup Exec Remote Utility.
I tried to configure this link under: But I always get this error message:
"Unable to validate Oracle database credentials. Try again."

Don't use Backup exec for Oracle, FULL STOP

It will cause you endless issues, I have tried using it for 3 years unsuccessfully.

To be fair though Arcserve also has issues.

I would stick with RMan and just use bexec to backup the flat files there

3rd party apps, in my experience, should not be used with Oracle directly.

RMan's easy to pickup and use, you can either get instruction from oracle direct or use a 3rd party consultancy if you can afford
