Hi,

We use Symantec Backup Exec V-Ray edition 2015 to make backup Exchange 2010 VM to NAS with 1G LAN card need time 1 hr 54 mins for 308GB  (Avg 2683MB /min). When restore backup Exchange VM to VMWare Server it need 3 hrs 1 min to restore (Avg only 1690MB/min). How can speed up restore VM?

If your NAS can do jumbo frames, turn that on and see if it makes any sort of difference. Bear in mind it will lead to a possible performance hit on the NAS or the network, but it's worth checking out to see if this helps you.

You can also monitor the target to see if there are any issues there leading to the slow-down in restores.

Thanks!

Hi CraigV,

Thanks for your reply. Is that means the correct time of restoration is ought to as similar as backup time?

Thanks and regards,

Its really slow. What is the model of your NAS and hard disk ? You can try to test the performance of the NAS and HDD to find out the bottleneck.
