Hi all, I'm having a trouble to backup my data for a HP StorageWorks Ultrium 920. It gave me back some logs, I searched about it and didn't found anything helpful. There's some below:

Erro final: 0xe00084ed - Ocorreu um erro de hardware.
V-79-57344-34029 - Ocorreu um erro de hardware.

"Ocurred an hardware error" that is what is written. Somebody knows what is it can be ?
I tried to test my Tape Drive but I didn't find how can I do it.

Sorry for my terrible english.

Hello,

see the following links for help troubleshooting

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH45126

 http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH24414

also make sure you are using Symantec drivers by going to Device Manager and right clicking on your tape drive to view Properties and then drivers.  If you need to install them use tapeinst.exe  http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO73431

do a full power cycle of the tape drive:

1. Power Off the Server
2. Power off the Tape Drive
3. Power on the Tape Drive to a 'Ready' State
4. Power on the Server

hope this helps

Hi,

Download HP Library and Tape Tools and stop your BE services. Once done, open up the utility and run the device diagnostics, especially the power-on self test. These will indicate physical hardware issues.

If they exist, then you need to log a call with HP to get the drive swopped out or fixed.

Thanks!
